Acted as primary customer contact for multiple product lines. Duties included interfacing with customers, suppliers, operators, and engineering to solve problems and address issues as needed.
Achieved Green Belt status in SPC training and projects.
Special Project: Visual Inspection Tool Created a custom automated inspection tool making use of an unutilized motion platform along with a purchased digital camera and component software. Developed a Visual Basic application which controlled the motion platform, analyzed digital images for pass / fail criteria, and generated reports for review by the operator. This project succeeded in improving our electronics manufacturing process by allowing the validation of part placement to be done prior to soldering components.
Special Project: Universal Program Storage Created a custom application (Visual Basic) which changed the process for storing and programming Universal® assembly equipment. Constructed a process which allowed automatic generation of the assembly programs based on current setups of the machine. Programs would be generated and downloaded to the assembly equipment automatically. Due to the dynamic nature of the machine setup, a PDA device with a barcode scanner (Palm Pilot type) was used to validate the machine setup prior to allowing the machines to be programmed. This mistake proofed a previously manual process, and allows analysis of machine head utilization across products.
