Oracle | Director of Software Engineering | April 2022 - Present

Lead three specialized teams (Database Administration, Pipeline and Automation Development, and Database Tools and Utility Development) supporting Global Industry Units across 8 sectors and 60 project teams managing up to 800 databases.

Developer Platform: Designed and delivered a common, parameter-driven developer platform built on Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB), replacing a fragmented setup process that required each team to independently configure authentication, middle-tier setup, database provisioning, tenancy, source control, test pipelines, and branch-based orchestration. What previously took weeks per team now takes minutes. The platform leverages refreshable clones and automated provisioning to support branch-based development at scale, maintained by a dedicated team handling improvements, outages, and evolving requirements.

Source Code Management Migration: Led the migration of 100 repositories from GitLab to Oracle Source Code Management as part of a supply chain security initiative. Delivered security process training to 400 developers on the new tooling and compliance requirements.

AI Integration: Expanded platform capabilities to incorporate AI-driven automation including code generation, document generation, RAG pipelines, agent and skill development, reporting automation, and CLI tooling for developers. Integrated Oracle AI Database to support intelligent automation across the development lifecycle.

BAE SYSTEMS | Information Technology Application Development Manager | 2019 - 2022

Managed a matrix team responsible for a large-scale Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) 12c upgrade spanning over 2,000 RICE components (Reports, Interfaces, Customizations, and Extensions).

Source Code and Deployment Modernization: The development team had no prior source code management practice. Led the design and implementation of a CMMC-compliant development operation built on GitLab and Flexagon, a deployment platform purpose-built for EBS environment management. A small core team stood up the full system and worked with the broader development organization to automate the entire upgrade deployment pipeline, eliminating the need for manual intervention.

Outcome: All 2,000+ components were deployed on time with fully automated execution. The tooling and process were subsequently opened to multiple teams across the organization to advance broader CMMC compliance and source code management goals.

Oracle | APEX Team Member and Oracle Cloud Architect | 2016 - 2019

Contributed to the Oracle Managed Database Cloud Services team during a formative period of Oracle’s cloud growth, supporting the Exadata Express Cloud Service, a managed Oracle Database platform running on Exadata engineered systems and serving thousands of customers worldwide as a Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering.

Served as a key member of the Oracle APEX team, collaborating with team members across topics including security, bug resolution, and translation processing for product internationalization.

Day-to-day responsibilities centered on keeping the platform operational: server maintenance, node configuration, and continuously improving automation scripts as infrastructure requirements evolved. Executed multiple system-level upgrades including Hudson, operating system, and certificate operations across the environment.

Made a direct product contribution to customer-facing export and import functionality, enabling customers to migrate databases between systems, a capability that extended the platform’s value for enterprise users.

Quality and automated testing were a consistent thread throughout the role.
